Mudelauto on toodetud Schuco poolt, tegemist on limiteeritud seeriaga, kokku tehtud 1000 mudelautot.
The BMW 2500 (E3) marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the Bavarian automaker in the late 1960s. It was the first model of BMW’s new “large car” series – later known as the “New Six” – and was designed to compete with Mercedes-Benz’s mid-sized luxury sedans.
The BMW 2500 debuted in 1968 and introduced an entirely new design language: clean lines, a distinctly shaped dual kidney grille, and elongated body proportions that reflected the status of an upper-middle-class vehicle. Under the hood beat a new 2.5-liter inline-six engine, producing 150 horsepower – more than many of its contemporaries. The car became known for its sporty handling, precise steering feel, and exceptional stability – traits that were rare in the luxury segment at the time. The model remained in production until 1977, with a total of 93,363 units built.
From a historical perspective, the E3 chassis is particularly significant as it served as the predecessor to the 7 Series, helping to establish BMW’s reputation as a flagship of sporty luxury.
This 1:43 scale model car was produced by Schuco as a limited edition of only 1,000 pieces, making it a highly collectible item.
