BMW 327 Sports Coupé oli üks elegantsemaid ja harmoonilisema joonega BMW-sid kogu sõjaeelses mudelivalikus. Kupee jõudis turule 1938. aastal täiendusena juba varem esitletud 327 Cabriolet’le ning pakkus suletud kere tõttu rohkem mugavust, vaiksemat sõidukeskkonda ja suuremat aastaringset kasutusvõimalust. 327 Coupé põhines BMW 326 tehnilisel alusel, kuid oli sellest madalam, lühem ja selgelt sportlikuma iseloomuga. Voolujooneline katusejoon, pikk kapott, kaarduvad poritiivad ja puhas küljeprofiil tegid sellest ühe oma ajastu visuaalselt kõige õnnestunuma BMW.

See oli oma ajastu luksusliku kupee kohta väga hea näitaja ning ühendas esinduslikkuse, mugavuse ja sportlikuma sõidutunde. 1941. aasta auto esindab selle mudeli tootmise viimast sõjaeelset etappi, sest tsiviilautode tootmine lõppes samal aastal. BMW Group Classicu andmetel toodeti 327 Coupé’d kokku 179 eksemplari. Lisaks valmis ka võimsam 327/28 versioon, mis kasutas BMW 328 mootorit ja millest toodeti kokku 86 kupeed.

The BMW 327 Sports Coupé was one of the most elegant and visually balanced BMWs of the entire pre-war period. The coupé entered the range in 1938 as a companion to the earlier 327 Cabriolet and offered greater comfort, a quieter cabin and better year-round usability thanks to its fixed roof. Based on the BMW 326, the 327 Coupé was lower, shorter and clearly more sporting in character. Its flowing roofline, long bonnet, curved fenders and clean side profile made it one of the most visually successful BMW designs of its era.
Technically, the BMW 327 Coupé used a 2.0-litre inline-six producing 55 horsepower and reaching a top speed of around 125 km/h. For a luxury coupé of its time, this was a very strong figure and helped the car combine prestige, comfort and a more sporting driving feel. A 1941 car represents the final pre-war phase of the model, as civilian production came to an end that same year. According to BMW Group Classic, a total of 179 BMW 327 Coupés were built. A more powerful 327/28 version was also offered, using the BMW 328 engine, and 86 coupés of that version were produced.
