BMW 328 on üks kõige legendaarsemaid varajasi BMW sportautosid ning mudel, mis kinnistas margi nime rahvusvahelises autospordis. Auto jõudis turule 1936. aastal ning paistis kohe silma oma madala roadster-kere, kerge konstruktsiooni ja väga sportliku iseloomuga. 328 ei olnud lihtsalt ilus avatud sportauto, vaid oma aja kohta erakordselt edukas ja tehniliselt veenev mudel, mis aitas kujundada BMW kuvandit juhile suunatud sportautode tootjana. The BMW 328 is one of the most legendary early BMW sports cars and the model that firmly established the brand’s name in international motorsport. Introduced in 1936, it immediately stood out through its low roadster body, lightweight construction and highly sporting character. The 328 was not just a beautiful open sports car, but also an exceptionally successful and technically convincing machine for its time, helping define BMW’s identity as a builder of driver-focused sports cars. It is through this model that the BMW name became closely linked with 1930s racing history and classic sporting style.
Technically, the BMW 328 used a 2.0-litre inline-six producing around 80 horsepower. Its success was based not only on the engine, but also on its low weight, well-balanced construction and strong handling.
