BMW Z4 (G29) on Z4 mudelipere kolmas põlvkond ning mudel, millega BMW tõi oma klassikalise kaheistmelise roadster’i tagasi puhtama ja sportlikuma algidee juurde. Mudelit esitleti 2018. aastal ning see jõudis turule 2019. aastal. Võrreldes eelkäijaga loobuti kokkuklapitavast metallkatusest ja naasti tekstiilkatuse juurde, mis aitas vähendada kaalu ning rõhutada taas Z-seeria traditsioonilist roadster’i iseloomu. G29 paistis silma madala isteasendi, pika kapoti, lühikeste ülendite ja väga juhikeskse sõidutundega, olles selgelt suunatud puhtale sõidunaudingule.
Tehniliselt pakuti BMW Z4 (G29) nelja- ja kuuesilindriliste bensiinimootoritega ning mudelirea tippu kuulus M40i versioon. Tootmine toimus Magna Steyri tehases Grazis Austrias ning mudel jäi tootmisse kuni 2026. aasta märtsini, mil BMW lõpetab Z4 tootmise Final Editioniga. G29 tähtsus seisneb selles, et see tõi Z4 tagasi kergema, avatuma ja klassikalise roadster’i suuna juurde, ühendades selle samal ajal kaasaegse tehnoloogia ja tugeva jõudlusega.

The BMW Z4 (G29) is the third generation of the Z4 family and the model with which BMW returned its classic two-seat roadster to a purer and more sporting original concept. It was unveiled in 2018 and reached the market in 2019. Compared with its predecessor, BMW abandoned the folding metal roof and returned to a fabric soft-top, helping reduce weight and once again emphasising the traditional roadster character of the Z Series. The G29 stood out through its low seating position, long bonnet, short overhangs and highly driver-focused feel, making it clearly aimed at pure driving enjoyment.
Technically, the BMW Z4 (G29) was offered with four- and six-cylinder petrol engines, with the M40i serving as the flagship version. Production took place at Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria, and the model remains in production until March 2026, when BMW will end the Z4 line with the Final Edition. The significance of the G29 lies in the way it returned the Z4 to a lighter, more open and more classically roadster-like concept while combining that with modern technology and strong performance.
