BMW M2 Competition (F87) on kompaktne kõrge jõudlusega kupee, mis tõi BMW M väiksemate mudelite hulka veelgi rohkem tõsiseltvõetavat võimekust. Mudelit esitleti 2018. aastal ning see asendas senise BMW M2 Coupé võimsama ja tehniliselt edasiarendatud versioonina. Väliselt jäi M2 Competition truuks F87 põlvkonna kompaktsele ja lihaselisele kujule, kuid sai juurde mitmeid detaile, mis rõhutasid selle veelgi sportlikumat iseloomu. BMW M2 Competition on paljude entusiastide jaoks üks viimaste aastate kõige puhtama tunnetusega BMW M-mudeleid, ühendades kompaktsed mõõtmed, tagaveo ja väga tugeva kuuesilindrilise mootori.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW M2 Competition 3,0-liitrist kahe turboga ridakuut S55, mis pärines suurematelt M3 ja M4 mudelitelt. Mootori võimsus ulatus 410 hobujõuni ja pöördemoment 550 njuutonmeetrini, mis andis väikesele kupeele väga tõsise sooritusvõime. Mudelit pakuti nii kuuekäigulise manuaalkäigukasti kui ka seitsmekäigulise M DCT automaatkäigukastiga ning tootmine kestis kuni 2021. aastani. F87 M2 Competition on oluline mudel, sest see viis väikese BMW M-kupee kontseptsiooni sisuliselt uuele tasemele ja sillutas teed hilisemale M2 CS-ile.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang. Mudelit toodeti 300 eksemplari.

The BMW M2 Competition (F87) is a compact high-performance coupé that brought even more serious capability to BMW M’s smaller model range. Introduced in 2018, it replaced the original BMW M2 Coupé as a more powerful and technically upgraded version. Visually, the M2 Competition remained true to the compact and muscular shape of the F87 generation, while gaining a number of details that underlined its even more focused sporting character. For many enthusiasts, the BMW M2 Competition is one of the purest-feeling BMW M cars of recent years, combining compact dimensions, rear-wheel drive and a very strong six-cylinder engine.
Technically, the BMW M2 Competition used the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged S55 inline-six derived from the larger M3 and M4. Output rose to 410 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, giving the small coupé genuinely serious performance. The model was offered with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed M DCT transmission, and production continued until 2021. The F87 M2 Competition is an important model because it took the concept of the compact BMW M coupé to a new level and paved the way for the later M2 CS.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. A total of 300 model cars were made.
