BMW M235i Coupé (F22) kuulus 2. seeria esimese põlvkonna sportlikumate mudelite hulka ning paiknes mudelivalikus M Performance’i ja täisvereliste M-mudelite vahel. Mudelit toodeti aastatel 2014–2016 ning see oli suunatud juhile, kes otsis selgelt sportlikku sõidukogemust, kuid ilma klassikalise M-mudeli kompromissideta. F22 kerega M235i ühendas kompaktse kupee proportsioonid, tagaveolise iseloomu ja kuuesilindrilise mootori, mis tegi sellest ühe oma aja hinnatuma väiksema BMW sportkupee.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW M235i 3,0-liitrist kuuesilindrilist turbomootorit N55, mille võimsus ulatus 326 hobujõuni ja pöördemoment 450 njuutonmeetrini. Jõud kanti tagaratastele kuuekäigulise manuaalkäigukasti või kaheksakäigulise automaatkäigukasti kaudu ning teatud turgudel oli saadaval ka xDrive nelikveoline versioon. MTC Design x BlackSails eriversioon põhineb samal tehnilisel platvormil, kuid rõhutab eelkõige visuaalset eristumist ja omanäolist identiteeti.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on GLM Modelsi toodang. Tegemist on piiratud tiraažiga ning mudelit toodeti vaid 109 eksemplari, kõik eraldi nummerdatud. Kollektsioonis olev mudel kannab numbrit 44.

The BMW M235i Coupé (F22) was one of the sportier models of the first-generation 2 Series and sat in the range between the M Performance models and the full BMW M cars. Produced from 2014 to 2016, it was aimed at drivers who wanted a clearly sporting driving experience without the full compromises of a traditional M model. In F22 form, the M235i combined compact coupé proportions, rear-wheel-drive character and a six-cylinder engine, making it one of the most highly regarded smaller BMW sports coupés of its time.
Technically, the BMW M235i used the 3.0-litre turbocharged N55 inline-six, producing 326 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Power was sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic transmission, while xDrive all-wheel drive was also available in certain markets. The MTC Design x BlackSails special version is based on the same technical platform, but focuses primarily on visual distinction and a more individual identity.
