BMW 2000 tii Touring (E6) esindas 02-seeria kõige sportlikumat ja tehniliselt arenenumat Touring-versiooni. Jõud kanti tagaratastele neljakäigulise manuaalkäigukasti kaudu, lisavarustusena oli saadaval ka viiekäiguline sportlikum lahendus. Auto vedrustus ja šassii põhinesid Neue Klasse tehnilisel ülesehitusel, kuid neid täiustati vastavalt mudeli võimekamale iseloomule. Tootmisaeg jäi suhteliselt lühikeseks ning kokku valmis vaid 5783 eksemplari, mis teeb sellest ka 02-seeria sees üsna haruldase mudeli.
Minu kollektsioonis olev Minichampsi mudelauto pärineb piiratud tiraažist, kokku toodeti 2640 eksemplari.

The BMW 2000 tii Touring (E6) represented the sportiest and most technically advanced Touring version of the 02 Series. The Touring body was an important step for BMW, because it introduced a more practical hatchback-style solution into the range while still preserving the sporting character associated with the brand. Its lower rear end, large tailgate and compact body made it very usable in everyday driving, but in the case of the 2000 tii this was combined with clearly sharper performance. It is precisely this combination that makes the 2000 tii Touring one of the most distinctive models of the 02 Series, bringing together practicality, sportiness and the technical ambition of the early 1970s in a very interesting package.
Technically, the BMW 2000 tii Touring used the 2.0-litre M10-series four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1990 cc, fitted with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection. As a result, the engine produced 130 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque, placing the car in a very respectable sporting category for its time. Power was sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox, while a 5-speed sport-oriented version was available as an option. The suspension and chassis were based on Neue Klasse engineering, but adapted to suit the model’s more capable character. Production lasted for a relatively short period, and only 5,783 examples were built, making it a rather rare model even within the 02 Series itself.
The Minichamps model car in my collection comes from a limited production run, with 2,640 pieces produced in total.
