BMW 2002 tii L (E10) oli mudel, millega BMW tõi 02-seeriasse sportlikkuse ja luksuslikuma varustuse ühenduse. Tähis L viitas sõnale Luxus ning eristas seda versiooni tavalisest 2002 tii-st eelkõige mugavama ja viimistletuma üldmuljega. 2002 tii ise kuulus 02-seeria kõige olulisemate mudelite hulka, sest just selle kaudu jõudis BMW kompaktsete sportlike sedaanide maailma Kugelfischeri mehaaniline sissepritse, mis andis autole oma aja kohta väga veenva jõudluse. The BMW 2002 tii L (E10) was the model with which BMW combined sportiness and a more luxurious specification within the 02 Series. The letter L stood for Luxus and distinguished this version from the standard 2002 tii mainly through a more comfortable and refined overall character. The 2002 tii itself was one of the most important models of the 02 Series, because it was through this car that Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection entered BMW’s world of compact sporting sedans, giving it very convincing performance for its era. In this way, the 2002 tii L represented early-1970s BMW very well, combining sporty driving character, technical ambition and a higher level of comfort in one package.
Technically, the BMW 2002 tii L used the 2.0-litre M10-series four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1990 cc and an output of 130 horsepower.
