Auto kapoti all paiknes 2,0-liitrine kuuesilindriline reasmootor, mis arendas 55 hobujõudu.
Sel ajavahemikul toodeti 179 eksemplari.Lisaks valmis sportlikum versioon nimega BMW 327/28, millel oli sama kere, kuid BMW 328 võidusõidumootor (80 hj) ja täiustatud tehnika. Selliseid autosid toodeti 86 eksemplari.
Ka kupeed valmistati sõjajärgsel perioodil Ida-Saksamaal EMW nime all, kuid need autod kandsid punase-valget embleemi ja pole enam BMW ametliku ajaloo osa.

The BMW 327 Coupé was a benchmark in sporty luxury motoring, first debuting in 1937 alongside the cabriolet version of the same series. Unlike the open-top variant, the coupé offered greater comfort and structural rigidity thanks to its closed body, making it appealing to those who desired a refined driving experience in all weather conditions.
Under the hood was a 2.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 55 horsepower. Thanks to its lightweight construction and aerodynamic shape, the car could reach a top speed of around 125 km/h—an impressive figure for its time. It was equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The design of the 327 Coupé was striking: curved front fenders, a streamlined roofline, elegant side profile, and long hood made it one of the most visually harmonious cars of its era. The interior featured leather upholstery, wood trim, and numerous handcrafted details.
Production continued until 1941, when World War II forced BMW to halt civilian car manufacturing. During that time, a total of 179 coupés were built. In addition, a more powerful version known as the BMW 327/28 was produced, featuring the same body but fitted with the BMW 328’s race-proven engine (80 hp) and upgraded mechanicals. Only 86 units of the 327/28 Coupé were made.
Coupé production also continued after the war in East Germany under the EMW name, but these cars bore a red-and-white emblem and are no longer officially recognized as part of BMW’s heritage.
The scale model was produced by Detail Cars.
