BMW 3 Series Cabrio (E36)

BMW 3 Series Cabrio (E36) kuulus kolmanda põlvkonna 3. seeria mudeliperre ning tõi 1990. aastatel BMW avatud kerega mudelitesse rohkem elegantsi, mugavust ja küpsust. E36 Cabrio jõudis turule 1993. aastal ning põhines tehniliselt E36 Coupél, mille voolujooneline kuju ja madalam ninaosa sobisid hästi kokku kabrioleti rafineerituma iseloomuga. Mudel ühendas klassikalise neljakohalise avatud auto kontseptsiooni BMW-le omase juhikeskse olemuse ja sportlikuma sõidutundega, pakkudes väga tasakaalustatud segu emotsioonist ja igapäevasest kasutatavusest.
Tehniliselt pakuti BMW 3 Series Cabrio (E36) mitme nelja- ja kuuesilindrilise bensiinimootoriga, millest kuuesilindrilised versioonid andsid autole eriti sujuva ja rafineeritud iseloomu. Tootmine kestis 1993. aastast kuni 1999. aastani ning E36 Cabrio aitas kindlustada 3. seeria kabriolettide koha BMW mudelivalikus ka järgmisteks põlvkondadeks. Selle mudeli tähtsus seisneb selles, et see ühendas elegantse disaini, klassikalise tagaveolise arhitektuuri ja väga hästi õnnestunud avatud kerega proportsioonid üheks tervikuks.

Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang ja kujutab 1992. aasta autot.

The BMW 3 Series Cabrio (E36) belonged to the third generation of the 3 Series and brought greater elegance, comfort and maturity to BMW’s open-top models in the 1990s. The E36 Cabrio reached the market in 1993 and was technically based on the E36 Coupé, whose streamlined shape and lower nose suited the more refined character of the convertible particularly well. The model combined the classic concept of a four-seat open car with BMW’s traditional driver-focused character and a distinctly sporting feel, offering a very balanced mix of emotion and everyday usability.
Technically, the BMW 3 Series Cabrio (E36) was offered with a range of four- and six-cylinder petrol engines, with the six-cylinder versions in particular giving the car a smooth and refined character. Production lasted from 1993 until 1999, and the E36 Cabrio helped secure the place of the 3 Series convertible within BMW’s range for future generations as well. The significance of this model lies in the way it combined elegant design, classic rear-wheel-drive architecture and very well resolved open-top proportions into one coherent package.
