BMW 2000 CS oli elegantne kupee, mis põhines Neue Klasse sedaanide tehnilisel põhjal ja tõi BMW mudelivalikusse 1960. aastate teisel poolel sportlikuma ning luksuslikuma kaheukselise alternatiivi. Mudelit toodeti aastatel 1965–1970 ning see paistis silma oma madala kupeekere, raamita küljeakende ja väga iseloomuliku esiosa kujundusega. 2000 CS oli oluline mudel ka seetõttu, et see aitas sillutada teed hilisematele suurematele BMW kupeedele, eriti E9 põlvkonna 2800 CS ja 3.0 CS mudelitele.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW 2000 CS 2,0-liitrist ridanelja, millel olid kaks Solexi karburaatorit ja mille võimsus ulatus 120 hobujõuni. Oma aja kohta pakkus see väga head tasakaalu mugavuse, sportliku sõidutunnetuse ja elegantse grand tourer’i iseloomu vahel. BMW Group Classicu andmetel toodeti 2000 CS-i kokku 9 999 eksemplari, mis teeb sellest suhteliselt haruldase ja ajalooliselt olulise mudeli.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang. Mudelit toodeti 1008 eksemplari ning see kujutab 1967. aasta autot.

The BMW 2000 CS was an elegant coupé based on the technical foundation of the Neue Klasse sedans, giving BMW a more sporting and luxurious two-door model in the second half of the 1960s. Produced from 1965 to 1970, it stood out through its low coupé body, frameless side windows and a very distinctive front-end design. The 2000 CS was also important because it helped pave the way for BMW’s later larger coupés, especially the E9-generation 2800 CS and 3.0 CS models.
Technically, the BMW 2000 CS used a 2.0-litre inline-four with twin Solex carburettors, producing 120 horsepower. For its time, it offered a very good balance of comfort, sporting driving character and elegant grand touring ability. According to BMW Group Classic, total production of the 2000 CS reached 9,999 cars, making it a relatively rare and historically significant model.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. A total of 1,008 model cars were made, and it represents a 1967 car.
