BMW 2000 CS oli elegantne kupee, mis põhines Neue Klasse sedaanide tehnilisel põhjal ja tõi BMW mudelivalikusse 1960. aastate teisel poolel sportlikuma ning luksuslikuma kaheukselise alternatiivi. Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang. Tegemist on piiratud tiraažiga mudeliga, mida toodeti 1008 eksemplari. Mudel kujutab 1967. aasta autot.

BMW 2000 CS was an elegant coupé based on the technical foundations of the Neue Klasse saloons, bringing a sportier and more luxurious two-door alternative to the BMW model range in the second half of the 1960s. The model was produced from 1965 to 1970 and stood out with its low coupé body, frameless side windows and very distinctive front-end design. The 2000 CS was also important because it helped pave the way for BMW’s later larger coupés, especially the E9-generation 2800 CS and 3.0 CS models.
Technically, the BMW 2000 CS used a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburettors, producing 120 hp. The car combined the technical rationality of the Neue Klasse with a more elegant and exclusive coupé body, offering a good balance of comfort, sporty driving feel and grand tourer character for its time. Compared with the later six-cylinder E9 models, the 2000 CS was still more compact and understated, but it was in this model that the stylistic and technical direction of BMW’s larger coupés began to take shape.
Today, the BMW 2000 CS is valued as an important transitional model in BMW history. It connected the practical and sporty engineering spirit of the Neue Klasse era with a more luxurious coupé format and helped prepare the ground for the iconic BMW coupés of the late 1960s and 1970s.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. It is a limited-edition model, with only 1,008 pieces produced. The model represents a 1967 car.
