BMW 535i Sedan (E34) on kolmanda põlvkonna 5. seeria kuuesilindriline tippmudel, mis ühendas klassikalise BMW ärisedaani väärikuse ja tugeva sõidudünaamika. E34 põlvkonda esitleti 1988. aastal ning see tõi BMW 5. seeriasse varasemast küpsema aerodünaamika, parema viimistluse ja moodsama tehnilise ülesehituse. 535i kuulus mudelirea jõulisemate versioonide hulka ning kujunes paljude jaoks üheks klassikalise BMW kuuesilindrilise sedaani etaloniks.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW 535i 3,5-liitrist ridakuue mootorit, mille võimsus ulatus 211 hobujõuni. Koos tagaveo, tasakaalustatud šassii ja soliidse, kuid sportliku iseloomuga pakkus see mudel väga head kompromissi mugavuse ja jõudluse vahel. E34 535i tähtsus seisneb selles, et see esindab hästi ajastut, mil BMW 5. seeria oli veel suhteliselt kompaktne, mehaaniliselt klassikaline ja väga juhikeskne sportlik ärisedaan.

The BMW 535i Sedan (E34) is one of the six-cylinder flagship versions of the third-generation 5 Series, combining the refinement of a classic BMW executive sedan with strong driving dynamics. The E34 generation was introduced in 1988 and brought a more mature aerodynamic design, improved build quality and a more modern technical layout to the BMW 5 Series. The 535i ranked among the more powerful versions in the range and became, for many enthusiasts, one of the defining examples of the classic BMW six-cylinder sedan.
Technically, the BMW 535i used a 3.5-litre inline-six engine producing 211 horsepower. Combined with rear-wheel drive, a well-balanced chassis and a character that was both refined and sporting, it offered an excellent compromise between comfort and performance. The importance of the E34 535i lies in the way it represents an era when the BMW 5 Series was still relatively compact, mechanically traditional and very much a driver-focused sports sedan.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. A total of 3,744 model cars were made.
