BMW Z3 M Coupé (E36/8) oli Z3 mudelipere kõige ekstreemsem ja omanäolisem kupeeversioon ning üks kõige erilisemaid BMW M mudeleid 1990. aastate lõpus. Mudel esitleti 1997. aastal ja tootmisse jõudis 1998. aastal, ühendades Z3 Coupé kompaktse ja väga iseloomuliku kere täisväärtusliku BMW M tehnikaga. Võrreldes tavalise Z3 Coupéga eristus M-versioon laiema rööpme, nelja summutiotsa, ovaalsete peeglite ja märksa jõulisema sõidutunnetuse poolest. Tänu oma lühikesele teljevahele, tugevale mootorile ja omapärasele “shooting brake” stiilis kerele kujunes sellest kiiresti üks kõige isikupärasemaid BMW sportautosid.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW Z3 M Coupé 3,2-liitrist ridakuut. Euroopa varased versioonid said S50 mootori 321 hobujõuga, hilisemad versioonid aga S54 jõuallika 325 hobujõuga. BMW Group Classicu andmetel toodeti kokku 21 613 Z3 M autot, hõlmates nii roadsteri kui ka coupé versioone, ning teiste allikate järgi moodustas sellest M Coupé osa 6291 autot. 2002. aasta auto esindab selle mudeli tootmise lõppjärku, mil Z3 M Coupé oli juba kujunenud moodsaks klassikuks ja üheks kõige hinnatumaks Z-seeria tippmudeliks.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang. Mudelit toodeti 528 eksemplari ning see kujutab 2002. aasta autot.

The BMW Z3 M Coupé (E36/8) was the most extreme and distinctive coupé version of the Z3 family and one of the most unusual BMW M models of the late 1990s. Revealed in 1997 and launched into production in 1998, it combined the compact and highly individual Z3 Coupé body with full BMW M engineering. Compared with the regular Z3 Coupé, the M version stood out through its wider track, quad exhausts, oval mirrors and far more aggressive driving character. With its short wheelbase, strong engine and very unusual shooting-brake-style body, it quickly became one of BMW’s most individual sports cars.
Technically, the BMW Z3 M Coupé used a 3.2-litre inline-six. Early European versions received the S50 engine with 321 horsepower, while later cars used the S54 engine with 325 horsepower. According to BMW Group Classic, a total of 21,613 Z3 M cars were built, covering both roadster and coupé versions, and other sources indicate that 6,291 of those were M Coupés. A 2002 car represents the final phase of production, by which time the Z3 M Coupé had already established itself as a modern classic and one of the most highly regarded flagship models of the Z range.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. A total of 528 model cars were made, and it represents a 2002 car.
