BMW esimese linnamaasturina pani X5 4.4i aluse tervele hilisemale X-mudelite perekonnale.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Minichampsi toodang. Mudelit toodeti 1008 eksemplari ning see kujutab 1999. aasta autot.

The BMW X5 4.4i (E53) was part of the first-generation X5 and the model with which BMW entered an entirely new market segment. The X5 reached the market in 1999, and BMW deliberately described it not as an SUV, but as a SAV – a Sports Activity Vehicle. The 4.4i was the first and most important early version of the range, combining a raised seating position, all-wheel drive and the car-like handling character traditionally associated with BMW. The E53 stood out through its strong yet elegant design and a personality aimed more at road use than serious off-road driving, setting it apart from many traditional SUVs of the time.
Technically, the BMW X5 4.4i used a 4.4-litre V8 producing 286 horsepower. A 1999 car represents the earliest phase of the model, when BMW introduced an entirely new concept that would later become decisive for the development of the whole X range. According to BMW Group Classic, a total of 124,800 X5 4.4i models were built, making it a very important part of E53 history. As BMW’s first SUV-type model, the X5 4.4i laid the foundation for the entire later X family.
The model in my collection is produced by Minichamps. A total of 1,008 model cars were made, and it represents a 1999 car.
Technical data at a glance:
Production period: 1999–2003 in early 4.4i form
Production location: Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA
Engine: 4.4-litre V8
Power output: 286 hp
Production total: 124,800 cars
Special feature: original V8 version of the first-generation X5 and one of the key starting points of the entire BMW X range
