BMW 3.0 CSi (E9) on üks tuntumaid klassikalisi BMW kupeesid ja E9 mudelipere üks olulisemaid versioone. Mudel jõudis tootmisse 1971. aasta juulis ning esindas E9 “suure kupee” seeria sportlikku ja luksuslikku tippu. Võrreldes karburaatoritega 3.0 CS-iga tõi 3.0 CSi kaasa elektroonilise sissepritse, mis andis autole rohkem jõudu ja veelgi veenvama grand tourer’i iseloomu. Elegantne kupeekere, madal vööjoon ja raamita küljeaknad tegid sellest ühe 1970. aastate BMW kõige iseloomulikuma mudeli.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW 3.0 CSi 3,0-liitrist ridakuue mootorit töömahuga 2985 cm³, mille võimsus ulatus 200 hobujõuni. Tippkiirus oli 220 km/h ning tootmine kestis kuni 1975. aasta novembrini. BMW Group Classicu järgi valmis 3.0 CSi-d kokku 8100 eksemplari, mis teeb sellest ajalooliselt olulise ja suhteliselt haruldase mudeli. E9 mudelipere tähtsus seisneb ka selles, et see oli hilisema 6. seeria otsene eelkäija.
Minu kollektsioonis olev mudel on Schuco toodang. Tegemist on piiratud tiraažiga ning mudelit toodeti 1000 eksemplari.

The BMW 3.0 CSi (E9) is one of the best-known classic BMW coupés and one of the most important versions of the E9 model family. Production began in July 1971, and the car represented the sporting and luxurious peak of BMW’s E9 “grand coupé” range. Compared with the carburetted 3.0 CS, the 3.0 CSi introduced electronic fuel injection, giving the car more power and an even stronger grand touring character. Its elegant coupé body, low waistline and frameless side windows made it one of the most distinctive BMW models of the 1970s.
Technically, the BMW 3.0 CSi used a 3.0-litre inline-six with a displacement of 2985 cc, producing 200 horsepower. Top speed was 220 km/h, and production continued until November 1975. According to BMW Group Classic, a total of 8,100 examples of the 3.0 CSi were built, making it an historically important and relatively rare model. The wider E9 family is also significant because it directly preceded the later 6 Series.
The model in my collection is produced by Schuco. It is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
