BMW 3 Series Coupe (E36)

BMW 3 Series Coupé (E36) kuulus kolmanda põlvkonna 3. seeria mudeliperre ning oli esimene 3. seeria kupee, mis kujunes sedaanist selgelt eraldiseisvaks mudeliks. Kui E21 ja E30 puhul oli kaheukseline mudel veel tihedamalt seotud sedaaniversiooniga, siis E36 Coupé tõi 1992. aastal kaasa iseseisvama iseloomu, elegantsema joone ja sportlikuma positsiooni mudelivalikus. Kupee ühendas kompaktse 3. seeria mõõdu, klassikalised BMW proportsioonid ja märksa voolujoonelisema disaini, mis andis sellele väga hästi tasakaalustatud ja ajatuma välimuse.
Tehniliselt jagas BMW 3 Series Coupé (E36) sedaaniga sama põhikonstruktsiooni, kuid sellel oli oma välisilme ja varustuses rohkem sportlikkust ning elegantsi rõhutavaid lahendusi. The BMW 3 Series Coupé (E36) belonged to the third generation of the 3 Series and was the first 3 Series coupé to emerge as a clearly distinct model alongside the sedan. While the two-door versions of the E21 and E30 had still been more closely tied to the saloon, the E36 Coupé introduced in 1992 brought a more independent character, a more elegant shape and a sportier place within the range. It combined the compact dimensions of the 3 Series with classic BMW proportions and a much more streamlined design, giving it a highly balanced and timeless appearance.
Technically, the BMW 3 Series Coupé (E36) shared its basic engineering with the sedan, but had its own exterior identity and a stronger emphasis on sporty and elegant equipment. The model was offered with a range of four- and six-cylinder petrol engines, and it quickly became one of the most highly regarded compact sports coupés of its era. The significance of the E36 Coupé lies in the way it helped define the identity of BMW coupés in the 1990s and paved the way for later 3 Series and M3 coupés.
