BMW 5. seeria Sedan (E60) on viienda põlvkonna 5. seeria, mis tähistas BMW jaoks selget stiili- ja tehnoloogiamuutust. Mudelit esitleti 2003. aastal ning see eristus eelkäijast palju julgemate joonte, moodsama interjööri ja uue põlvkonna elektrooniliste lahendustega. E60 kujunes kiiresti üheks 2000. aastate BMW kõige äratuntavamaks sedaaniks ning mängis olulist rolli kogu margi disainisuuna muutumisel.
Tehniliselt pakuti E60 sedaani väga laia mootorivalikuga, alates säästlikumatest neljasilindrilistest versioonidest kuni kuue- ja kaheksasilindriliste mudeliteni. Sedaani tootmine kestis kuni 2010. aastani ning see mudel jäi BMW ajalukku kui 5. seeria, mis ühendas klassikalise tagaveolise sõidutunnetuse ja uue ajastu tehnoloogilise ambitsiooni. Sama mudelipere tippu kuulus ka M5, mis viis E60 platvormi võimekuse täiesti uuele tasemele oma V10-mootoriga.

The BMW 5 Series Sedan (E60) is the fifth-generation 5 Series and marked a clear shift in BMW design and technology. Introduced in 2003, it stood apart from its predecessor through bolder styling, a more modern interior and a new generation of electronic systems. The E60 quickly became one of the most recognisable BMW sedans of the 2000s and played an important role in reshaping the visual direction of the brand.
Technically, the E60 sedan was offered with a very wide engine range, from more economical four-cylinder versions to six- and eight-cylinder models. Sedan production continued until 2010, and the car remains an important chapter in BMW history because it combined the classic rear-wheel-drive character of the 5 Series with a more ambitious new technological era. At the top of the same family was the M5, which took the E60 platform to an entirely new level with its V10 engine.
