BMW 5. seeria Touring (E61) on viienda põlvkonna 5. seeria universaal, mis ühendas E60 sedaani julge disainikeele ja tehnilised uuendused praktilisema Touring-kerega. Mudel jõudis turule 2004. aastal ning tõi 5. seeria universaalide hulka modernsema ilme, rohkem elektroonilisi lahendusi ja laia mootorivaliku. E61 paistis silma oma dünaamilise joone, suure pagasiruumi ja hea igapäevase kasutatavusega, jäädes samas selgelt juhikeskseks BMW-ks.
Tehniliselt pakuti E61 Touringut väga erinevate bensiini- ja diiselmootoritega, nelja-, kuue- ja kaheksasilindriliste versioonideni välja. Mudeli tippversioonina lisandus hiljem ka M5 Touring, mis viis selle kerevormi võimekuse täiesti uuele tasemele. E61 tähtsus seisneb selles, et see jätkas BMW klassikalist kiire ja praktilise universaali traditsiooni, sidudes 5. seeria mugavuse, tehnoloogia ja sõidudünaamika ühte tervikusse.

The BMW 5 Series Touring (E61) is the estate version of the fifth-generation 5 Series, combining the bold design language and technical innovations of the E60 sedan with the more practical Touring body style. It reached the market in 2004 and brought a more modern appearance, more electronic systems and a wide engine range to BMW’s executive estate line-up. The E61 stood out through its dynamic shape, generous cargo space and strong everyday usability, while still remaining clearly a driver-focused BMW.
Technically, the E61 Touring was offered with a broad range of petrol and diesel engines, including four-, six- and eight-cylinder versions. Later, the M5 Touring joined the range as the flagship model, taking the performance potential of this body style to a completely new level. The importance of the E61 lies in the way it continued BMW’s tradition of building fast and practical estates, combining 5 Series comfort, technology and driving dynamics in one package.
