BMW M3 M-Performance Touring (G81)

BMW M3 M Performance Touring (G81) ei olnud eraldi ametlik mudeliversioon samas mõttes nagu tavaline M3 Touring või M3 CS Touring, vaid viitab BMW M Performance Parts’iga varustatud G81 põlvkonna M3 Touringule. G81 ise oli BMW M jaoks ajalooline mudel, sest 2022. aastal jõudis esimest korda tootmisse ametlik M3 Touring. See ühendas M3-le omase väga kõrge jõudluse universaalkere praktilisusega ning tõi BMW M mudeliperre kaua oodatud kerevariandi. M Performance’i lisad rõhutasid selle mudeli puhul veelgi sportlikumat ja rajalähedasemat ilmet, lisades süsinikkiust aerodünaamilisi detaile, eridisainiga velgi ja muid visuaalseid aktsente.
Tehniliselt põhines BMW M3 M Performance Touring (G81) mudelil BMW M3 Competition Touring xDrive nelikveoga, mille jõuallikaks oli 3,0-liitrine M TwinPower Turbo ridakuues mootor. Esialgu arendas see 375 kW ehk 510 hj ning standardvarustuses kuulusid juurde kaheksakäiguline M Steptronic käigukast ja M xDrive nelikvedu. Hilisema värskenduse järel tõusis võimsus 390 kW ehk 530 hj-ni, kuid G81 algne iseloom kujunes just 510-hobujõulise versiooni ümber. Kuna M Performance tähistab siin eelkõige tehase sportlikke lisadetaile, mitte eraldi mootoriversiooni, on kõige korrektsem käsitleda seda mudelit G81 M3 Touringu edasiarendusena, mille rõhk on välimuse ja detailide teravdamisel.

The BMW M3 M Performance Touring (G81) was not a separate official model version in the same sense as the regular M3 Touring or M3 CS Touring, but rather refers to a G81-generation M3 Touring fitted with BMW M Performance Parts. The G81 itself was a historic model for BMW M, as 2022 marked the first time an official production M3 Touring entered the market. It combined the very high performance expected of an M3 with the practicality of an estate body, finally bringing a long-awaited body style into the BMW M range. In this case, the M Performance parts further emphasized the car’s track-inspired and sporting appearance through carbon-fibre aerodynamic components, distinctive wheels and other visual enhancements.
Technically, the BMW M3 M Performance Touring (G81) was based on the BMW M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive, powered by a 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine. At launch, it produced 375 kW or 510 hp, combined as standard with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive. After a later update, output increased to 390 kW or 530 hp, but the original identity of the G81 was built around the 510-horsepower version. Because M Performance in this context refers primarily to factory performance-oriented accessories rather than a separate engine derivative, the most accurate way to describe it is as a BMW M3 Touring enhanced in appearance and detail by BMW M Performance Parts.
