BMW 325ti Compact (E46/5)

BMW 325ti Compact (E46/5) oli mudel, millega BMW andis 3. seeria Compactile kõige sportlikuma ja iseloomukama kuue silindriga versiooni. E46 Compact erines ülejäänud 3. seeria mudelitest oma lühema kolmeukselise luukpära kere, omanäolise esi- ja tagaosa ning nooruslikuma üldmulje poolest. 325ti jõudis turule 2001. aastal Compacti mudelirea tippversioonina ning ühendas väiksema kere, tagaveo ja ridakuuesest mootorist tuleneva sujuvuse viisil, mis muutis selle üheks erilisemaks E46 põlvkonna mudeliks. Just see kombinatsioon andis 325ti Compactile omapärase koha BMW mudeliloos, sest tegu ei olnud pelgalt praktilise luukpäraga, vaid väga selgelt juhikeskse ja sportliku karakteriga autoga.
Tehniliselt kasutas BMW 325ti Compact 2,5-liitrist ridakuues mootorit tähisega M54B25, mille töömaht oli 2494 cm³ ja võimsus 192 hobujõudu. BMW Group Classicu andmetel toodi see mudel turule koos 316ti-ga 2001. aasta juunis ning see oli teise põlvkonna Compacti valiku tipp. Compacti kereversiooni toodeti kokku 199 430 eksemplari, kusjuures 325ti paistis silma eriti just oma kerge, vilkama olemuse ja kiirema roolilati poolest. See tegi sellest mudelist ühe kõige huvitavama E46 derivaadi, mis ühendas Compacti praktilisuse ja klassikalise BMW kuuesilindrilise sõidutunnetuse.

The BMW 325ti Compact (E46/5) was the model that gave the 3 Series Compact its most sporting and characterful six-cylinder version. The E46 Compact differed from the rest of the 3 Series range through its shorter three-door hatchback body, its distinctive front and rear styling, and its more youthful overall appearance. The 325ti reached the market in 2001 as the flagship version of the Compact line and combined a smaller body, rear-wheel drive and the smoothness of an inline-six in a way that made it one of the more unusual models of the E46 generation. It was precisely this combination that gave the 325ti Compact its own special place in BMW history, because it was not merely a practical hatchback, but a clearly driver-focused and sporting car.
Technically, the BMW 325ti Compact used the 2.5-litre inline-six engine known as the M54B25, with a displacement of 2494 cc and an output of 192 horsepower. According to BMW Group Classic, the model was launched together with the 316ti in June 2001 and was the flagship of the second Compact generation. Total E46 Compact production reached 199,430 cars, while the 325ti stood out especially for its light, agile nature and quicker steering rack. This made it one of the most interesting E46 derivatives, combining Compact practicality with the classic feel of a BMW inline-six.

The Minichamps model in my collection represents an early BMW 325ti Compact and is limited to 1,824 pieces.
