BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale oli 1959. aastal valminud unikaalne prototüüp, mille kujundas kuulus Itaalia disainer Giovanni Michelotti ja mille kere valmistas Vignale – samanimeline tuntud keretootja Torinos. Michelotti disain eristus oma selgelt voolujoonelise, sportliku ja sümmeetrilise kuju poolest, sisaldades Vignale’ile omaseid peeneid kroomjooni, kergeid tagatiiva kaari ning madalat profiili. Auto esiosa meenutas oma kahekordse neeruvõrega klassikalisi BMW jooni, kuid kogu auto üldkuju oli selgelt inspireeritud 1950. aastate lõpu Itaalia gran turismo’dest.
Auto tehniliseks aluseks olnud BMW 3200 S oli varustatud alumiiniumist V8-mootoriga, mis arendas umbes 160 hobujõudu ning suutis saavutada ligikaudu 190 km/h tippkiirust – muljetavaldav luksussedaani kohta oma ajas.
BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale jäi siiski ainu-eksemplariks ning seeriatootmisse ei jõudnud.

The BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale was a unique prototype completed in 1959, designed by the renowned Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti and bodied by Vignale, the well-known coachbuilder based in Turin. The car was based on the BMW 3200 S platform, equipped with a 3.2-liter V8 engine, and was intended to present a vision of a next-generation luxury sedan that would combine German engineering with Italian elegance.
Michelotti’s design stood out with its clearly streamlined, sporty, and symmetrical shape, featuring fine chrome details, subtle rear fender curves, and a low-profile silhouette—hallmarks of Vignale’s design language. The front end, with its twin kidney grille, recalled classic BMW styling cues, but the overall form of the vehicle was clearly inspired by the Italian gran turismos of the late 1950s.
The car’s technical foundation, the BMW 3200 S, featured an aluminum V8 engine producing around 160 horsepower and capable of reaching a top speed of approximately 190 km/h—an impressive figure for a luxury sedan of its time.
Despite its elegance and engineering merit, the BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale remained a one-off prototype and never entered series production.
